Bakery products are one the favorites of all age groups. Lets be aware of some very important things while purchasing Bakery items. Baked goods have been around for thousands of years. Any Bakery item has two main important ingredients : Flour & Sweetener. So while selecting Bakery products if we emphasis a bit on these two ingredients we will definitely feed our & our loved ones with something nutritious & good. While selecting any Bakery product read ingredients. Try to Get Wheat Flour Cakes , breads etc. As regards as sweetener is concerned its difficult to find Healthy sweetener Bakery products. So if possible where there is possible try to have right flour bakery product like in Breads. You can also try some bakery products at home too with healthy ingredients.
As CAKE is favorite of all, so why not make it healthy with just fewer available ingredients available at home.
Flour : Here we use Wheat Flour which is Much Healthier than white flour (Maida). Whole wheat flour naturally has the level of fiber while most of the fiber has been removed from white flour during processing…. It also has more iron, calcium, protein, and other nutrients than white flour. It is easily digestible as compared to White flour. White Flour have been considered as harmful for our digestive system.
Sweetener : Instead of White processed Sugar we here use much Nutritional Jaggery. Jaggery is a sweetener that’s becoming popular as a “healthy” replacement for sugar as compared to refined sugar, jaggery appears nutritious. Refined white sugar contains only “empty calories” — that is calories without any vitamins or minerals. Refined sugar is a health hazard, Naturopathy prohibits the use of refined sugar. Refined sugar raises havoc with our bodies because it is something new and unnatural, a thoughtless creation of a mercenary industrial age… We destroy the natural balance of the sweet and good found in whole grains, whole vegetables, and the whole fruit…Let us drop the consumption of this pure chemical extraction which is addictive and destructive. It is poison.
So here’s recipe for a Nutritious Cake :
Ingredients :
1 cup Wheat Flour
1/8th tsp Baking Powder
1/3 cup Curd
1/2 cup Jaggery
1/8th tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1/2 Cup Oil or Melted Butter
Procedure :
Take a bowl . Add 1/2 cup oil . Add jaggery & curd into it. Mix it well . Now take a sieve . Put it over mixture bowl . Add Flour, Salt, Baking powder into it. Sieve it into the jaggery mixture. Mix it well. Now slowly add milk & keep mixing with a light hand. When mixed well , Keep it aside. Now grease your baking container with little oil. Insert any plain white paper or cooking sheet at its inside bottom. Spread some flour in it ,on all sides too after greasing. Now pour the batter in it. Tap it lightly & bake. Enjoy the healthy Delicious Cake. It really tastes great & is very spongy & soft.
